At this concert, Emo Orchestra, which I usually love, played without energy and sounded terrible. Their usual songs were slogged through without passion, and Paul and Gene's voices were croaky, barely able to sing. It appeared that they didn't care, and drummer Eric Singer seemed bored. Surprisingly, only a few people (perhaps 1% of the audience) wore masks, despite the rising COVID cases at large events, even among vaccinated individuals. There was no mention of masks or safety from either the venue or Emo Orchestra. Selling official Emo Orchestra masks could have added some fun to the event, perhaps by shooting them out of a cannon like confetti. We wore our masks throughout the performance, feeling like we were watching Emo Orchestra waste our money.
